Worst. Movie. Ever. Soul crushingly slow & boringThis entire story could’ve been told in 45 minutes. By far one of Scorsese’s worst films. If you’d like DiCaprio and Scorsese, in the Departed… Go rewatch the Departed. Do not see this movie. DiCaprio‘s odd “slingblade-esque” character was awkward as was De Niro‘s overplayed folksy accent. Nothing transformative or brooding about either of their performances. This fever-nightmare version of Little House on the Prairie period-piece misses the mark in just about every way. If you want a dark and gritty 1800’s style film just go see “there will be blood” again and save yourself the extra 1hr 30min of directionless storytelling in Scorsese’s latest (and hopefully last) film. Maybe just reread a Tony Hellerman book for native American desert southwest Focused characters. Any of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone prequels have more authenticity and dimension and markedly more talent displayed on screen as well as behind the camera, having the good sense of when to yell “CUT!” Absolutely. Horrid waste. Of. Time..Score: 1/5
DisappointingWas surprised to realize how this film wasn’t very good. Or even good. No characters to even care about. Leo’s character is unlikeable. Many in this movie are. Plus it’s over three hours long! Scorsese has done better. So has Leo..Score: 2/5

It's unfair to dismiss it as 'woke', as it's about specific people in a real time and place, I didn't feel it was trying to generalize about entire races, it's too subtle for that.
