Based on the novel by Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club), Choke is a dark and wickedly funny joyride from the depths of sexual compulsion to the heights of the Second Coming! Beside working at a colonial reenactment theme park and trying to hook up with everything on two legs, sex addict Victor Mancini courts the love and money of complete strangers via a demented con that might just kill him. But first, Victor must save his dying, delusional mother (Angelica Houston) by seducing and impregnating her comely physician, a task easier said than done, in this gleefully twisted tale of dysfunction, salvation, love, and libido.
A sex-addicted con-man pays for his mother's hospital bills by playing on the sympathies of those who rescue him from choking to death.

Worst. Movie. Ever. Well, just about.DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. Bad writing, lame directing, slow and dry pace. Otherwise promising actors have no chemistry....Worst of all, the plot is idiotic, and not in a good way. I was actually fooled into renting this for the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! music in the preview. Chuck Palahniuk should be embarassed. Or maybe he already is. Anyway, keep looking..Score: 1/5

Wonderful!!I've been wanting to see this movie for months, ever since the first time I saw the trailer (and I'm female, so it wasn't just for the boobs,) and when I finally saw it on iTunes, I rented it. Well after the long download, and watching it twice, I find myself back here buying it. The is the best movie I've seen in a VERY long time. As crazy as it may sound, it made me laugh, cry, feel awesome, feel awful and made me think about my life in another perspective. Sam Rockwell was perfect for this role. So if you want to enjoy something a bit off the beaten path, don't mind a little sex, swearing and honesty, see this movie!!.Score: 5/5
I could not stop laughing!Not sure what the other person is talking about... this movie was spot on the book... I have never laughed so hard... the entire movie theatre was roaring. Choke is one of my favorite books, and I just knew the movie would not live up to my expectations. I was really wrong. Get this one!.Score: 5/5
Good MovieIt doesn't follow the book exactly... The ending is completely different. Other than that it was a good time. I would like to see reviews of those who haven't read the book. I tried watching the movie from that point of view and I still can't get the ideas out of my head that were implanted by the book. Chuck Palahniuk's words are gripping, meaningful reflections on today's society... And I don't think the movie portrayed that as well as Fight Club. That is the only reason why I'm deducting a star from a perfect score..Score: 4/5
ChokeBefore renting this movie I saw that it was pretty much evenly divided by people who loved this movie and by people who hated this movie. It definitely takes a taste for dark humor, but it doesn't take a certian type to enjoy this movie. Good, thoughtful and evoking. I'd reccomend renting this movie for sure :)..Score: 4/5

I CHOKED WITH LAUGHTERThis was my favorite comedy of the year. The humor is soooo witty and off the wall. For you Palahniuk fans out there, this is a must. Sam Rockwell nails Victor Mancini and director Clark Gregg really brought what I thought would be an impossble story to the big screen with integrity to the book but giving it his own flavor as well. I saw it in the theatre and will buy the DVD to watch over and over..Score: 5/5
Surprisingly spot on.Choke is my absolute favorite book, so I was really interested in how the movie would be done. I admit I was a bit disappointed with the ending; it seemed really abrupt and left out some pretty major plot points. Still, the rest of the film was practically identical to the events in the book, and the casting was really well done also. I don't love the movie as much as the book, but I definitely did enjoy it and I'm glad I own it so I can watch it again..Score: 4/5
