The movie hit homeThis is one of my favorite films. It hit me on a personal level because I can relate to Joel and the way he experiences the world. I relate to his social awkwardness and quiet soulfulness. A lot to say but unsure of how to voice it. Either out of fear or uncertainty. I've also met a girl like Clementine that filled me full of life and excitement but also cut deep like a razor. Like a burning match beautiful and volatile fading away quickly. Even though it was painful, her memory will be cherished. There are so many layers to this film that I will have to watch it over and over. It is like life, ambiguous. Favorite movie of all time.I had to watch this movie again. I'm so glad I did. I caught so many details that I overlooked the first time. It's simply so beautiful; the director does such a great job transitioning. The flashbacks, the whole entire idea of erasing memories, is so amazing. My only advice: watch it carefully; absorb very detail and you'll enter into a mesmerizing trance. Great cast. Great acting. Funny. Depressing. Something you'll never forget or regret watching. PhenomenalThis is one of the best films I have seen in a long time. The acting is impeccable across the board. The plot is ingeniously crafted and executed. I would strongly recommend steering clear of any synopses, the story is much better going in blind. The visual effects are subtle but contribute tremendously to the themes at play. Český Život osamělého a nesmělého Joela se od základu změní, když potká excentrickou a temperamentní Clementine. Ta je výstřední ve všech směrech a k bláznivým kouskům stále úspěšněji vyzývá i Joela, jenže je rovněž nevyrovnaná a výbušná a jednoho dne se rozhodne Joela zbavit a začít znovu. Na experimentální klinice se podrobí vymazání paměti, a jelikož pokus dopadne úspěšně, rozhodne se zdrcený Joel pro stejné řešení. Nemá ale štěstí, tentokrát se zákrok vymkne lékaři z rukou a dílo zkázy dokoná jeho asistent, který se místo pečlivého monitorování mozkové činnosti klienta nechá svést k divokým erotickým hrátkám. Režisér umí mistrovsky rozrušovat časoprostorovou kontinuitu a nahrazovat ji asociativním spojováním útržků, jež pocházejí z různých vrstev paměti, a zde se tento princip uplatní při rekonstrukci celého vztahu ústřední dvojice. Odvíjí se pozpátku, k některým zážitkům se film opakovaně vrací, mnohé deformuje v závislosti na Joelových rozjitřených emocích.

Režisér vie majstrovsky rozrušovať časopriestorovú kontinuitu, nahrádzať ju asociatívnym spájaním útržkov, ktoré pochádzajú z rôznych vrstiev pamäti a tu sa tento princíp uplatní pri rekonštrukcii celého vzťahu ústrednej dvojice. Odvíja sa dozadu. K niektorým zážitkom sa film opakovane vracia a mnohé deformuje v závislosti na Joelových rozjatrených emóciách.
