During a visit with Dr. Kroger, Monk learns that Kroger's son, Troy, has been skipping school and running with a troubled crowd. In fact, at that very moment Troy is skateboarding in a parking lot with his pals Ridley and Pez, and they're about to get into a whole new kind of trouble. The boys come upon a dead man behind the wheel of a car, and the car's backseat is littered with empty bank bags from a recent robbery. There's no money to be found, but Troy comes across a hastily drawn map, and there's a big black "X" marking the spot where the boys assume the stolen money is hidden..

The show has jumped the sharkThis was once a very clever show with a unique charater, Monk, but it has gone stale. Whereas the acting is very good, the writing is now along the lines of "Murder She Wrote", very predictable and dull. One of the Best Shows EverMonk is such a sympathetic character you are bound to enjoy watching his quirky lifestyle and brilliant attention to detail. It is amazing how a show with murder and crime can make you feel so good. His innocence is refreshing, as is the funny and lighthearted mood of this show. Back To Its Roots!I am very pleased with this season of Monk so far! In season 5, Monkishness was replaced, in some ways...too many ways, with childishness, and the mysteries were given away before the story began. However, the comedy is back and the mysteries are back! Season 5 left me wondering whether Monk was going to fizzle, but if things keep going as they are, Monk might as well be on for another 5 years because its getting better and better! If I had one suggestion, it would be to bring in some information about Trudy. What about that trip to New York that they all took to find information about Trudy's murderer? Where did that lead them, and what is the next step? Keep the overarching story flowing..Score: 4/5
Very glad to see Monk is back!I hope NBC realizes now that it was a mistake to have pulled their content off of iTunes, especially after their available-for-purchase offering through their service is Windows-only. Some content is okay to stream, but a gem of a show like Monk is one I want to download and play over and over, when I feel like it.
