Don't believe the positive reviews....I can't believe these reviews. After watching half of the pilot, and turning it off in disgust, I'm thinking the reviews must be written by the actors or Fox staffers. The storyline is wildly implausible, the acting is hammy, and the plot and dialogue are pure high school. I completely lost interest 30 minutes in, and watched another 15, hoping it might get better. Do Not Think, GET IT!I’m a huge fan of sci-fi, conspiracy theories, the aliens, mystery, thriller, action and the supernatural/the unknown, in general. And to be quite honest, I was reluctant to get Fringe as I’ve neither watched it on T.V., seen trailers or anything. I was fortunate enough to just take a leap of faith and buy the first season. Since that day, I got hooked to an amazing world full of wonderful scientific/pseudo-scientific phenomena/theories coming to life not to mention the brilliant characters who vary from serious, beautiful, to mysterious, to funny, sexy, fierce, evil and cunning. Each episode presents a new mystery that our heroes will explore and solve, while the main story will evolve as you progress through the season. WHY DID I RESIST THIS SHOW FOR THREE SEASONS!Whenever I saw bits or pieces of this show on tv, it left me uninspired and cold. I'm as bad as tv or movie execs who expect shows to explain themselves immediately... in a single five word quote. I wasn't sure if I really like this show after two episodes... by end of the fouth, I am hooked and just hope they can sustain "the pattern." The strange "fringe' science is less important to me than the motivations of the characters. Are the betrayals really betrayals? Is loyalty just a sham? Are past actions a sign of what a person will do in the future? Will past actions help or hinder? Another thing: the main character is played by Anna Torv. In clips of the show, I thought she seemed rather limp. She wasn't instantly appealing to me. She doesn't use glamour, flashy acting, or star charisma to seduce you. Sadly another reason I probably didn't latch onto this show immediately. But by episode four, she anchors the show with an integrity I need amid all the conspiracies of the plot and the uncertain behavior of every other character. She' great.
