Where are all the older shows?I love watching the History Channel and most of its programming including all these new reality shows that are on now. While shows like Axe Men, Swamp People, and American Pickers are good in their own right by displaying what I like to call some true modern/contemporary Americana it does leave me wondering... WHERE ARE THE OLDER HISTORY PROGRAMS?!?!?! Like Rome: Rise and fall of an Empire, Civil War Journal, The True Story of Alexander the Great, The War of 1812, Boudicca: Warrior Queen, etc. All these and more were great in my opinion and were what helped me get interested in pursuing a career in History. Superstorm 2012 (e158) - GLOBAL WARMING PROPAGANDADon't buy episode 158, Superstorm 2012. I was looking to educate myself with some real scientific explanations and information, instead I was inundated with left wing global warning propaganda the entire time. This may be the worst piece that History Channel has created; there is no story or stories of people, there is no data or information that we all didn't hear about on our own local news channels, and there is no insight from experts, scientists, or meteorologists. Instead History Channel drug the bottom of the barrel with school teachers from community colleges, Al Gore global warming activists, and the Brits telling us we should look to them for engineering direction. Americas book of secretsIt easy to respect history channel for dedicating one channel 100 percent about nothing but history. I'm of course talking about the newly branded H2 channel. Tv guide had already told me that "America book of secrets" was adapted into a tv show. I was curious to see what it would be about . I felt split between the segments themselves. The first segment on Arlington was very good but I felt that the special was never consistently entertaining. But it did do good job on the Washington Monument and the Golden Gate Bridge. However, the very lowest point had to have been devils tower which seemed like something right out if ancient aliens. ( which has seriously gone downhill since season 2). Like I said, I just never felt fully entertained with this special. I just felt the information was there. I think 'meh' best sums up my feelings for "America's book of secrets". But, it is still seriously a step up from "Proving God" so I'll give it a 70 percent or a c-. Stray observations : - I'm amazed that history channel choose the name "America's book of secrets". To me it just seems too much like 'president's book of secrets'. -I'm trying to review some of the first episodes of the show too..Score: 3/5

Lots of flash, not much substance...The History Channel Specials are a weird mix of science, history, pseudo-science and conspiracy theories. It's obvious that more emphasis has gone into the entertainment value than education, as the viewer is bombarded with snippets of info (some of which is questionable) without much explanation. This has resulted in inconsistant quality of the specials. For example: "Crash: The Next Depression" offered a clearer explanation of the financial crisis than the equivalent Frontline episode and was a quality show on its own. Whereas "The Gates of Hell" was disjointed and boring, leaving the viewer with more questions than answers. I recommend this series for those who think "Ghost Hunters" are real..Score: 3/5
