He was one of the most fabled antiheroes of the Old West, a complicated figure whose outlaw reputation captured the imagination of a nation. In central Kansas, a treasure hunt is underway that could call into question much of what we think we know of him. What happened to the gold Jesse James stole? Can any part of it be found? Was he, in fact, a clandestine member of a powerful Confederate secret society determined to help the South rise again? Follow in Jesse James’ Hidden Treasure a team of amateur historians as they search for James’ secret treasure in an attempt to discover new truths about the American legend, including why he robbed, and when he died..

Americas book of secretsIt easy to respect history channel for dedicating one channel 100 percent about nothing but history. I'm of course talking about the newly branded H2 channel. Tv guide had already told me that "America book of secrets" was adapted into a tv show. I was curious to see what it would be about . I felt split between the segments themselves. The first segment on Arlington was very good but I felt that the special was never consistently entertaining. But it did do good job on the Washington Monument and the Golden Gate Bridge. However, the very lowest point had to have been devils tower which seemed like something right out if ancient aliens. ( which has seriously gone downhill since season 2). Like I said, I just never felt fully entertained with this special. I just felt the information was there. I think 'meh' best sums up my feelings for "America's book of secrets". But, it is still seriously a step up from "Proving God" so I'll give it a 70 percent or a c-. Stray observations : - I'm amazed that history channel choose the name "America's book of secrets". To me it just seems too much like 'president's book of secrets'. -I'm trying to review some of the first episodes of the show too..Score: 3/5

102 Minutes that Changed AmericaI was a bit disappointed in this. All it showed was amature video of all the confusion. Lots of flash, not much substance...The History Channel Specials are a weird mix of science, history, pseudo-science and conspiracy theories. It's obvious that more emphasis has gone into the entertainment value than education, as the viewer is bombarded with snippets of info (some of which is questionable) without much explanation. This has resulted in inconsistant quality of the specials. For example: "Crash: The Next Depression" offered a clearer explanation of the financial crisis than the equivalent Frontline episode and was a quality show on its own. Whereas "The Gates of Hell" was disjointed and boring, leaving the viewer with more questions than answers. I recommend this series for those who think "Ghost Hunters" are real..Score: 3/5
