Five hundred years in the future there's a whole new frontier, and the crew of the Firefly-class spaceship, Serenity, is eager to stake a claim on the action. They'll take any job, legal or illegal, to keep fuel in the tanks and food on the table. But things get a bit more complicated after they take on a passenger wanted by the new totalitarian Alliance regime. Now they find themselves on the run, desperate to steer clear of Alliance ships and the flesh-eating Reavers who live on the fringes of space.

CriminalI agree with the fans. This was some of the best sci-fi on tv in a long time, and that it didn't even get a full season was criminal. Great cast, fully-formed characters you cared about right away, good writing with a nice sense of humor. Yes it had its flaws -- the goram lingo got old quick -- but they were far outweighed by its many good qualities. How cornball crapola like SG-1 and Galactica got to run forever and this didn't get a single full season is one of the great mysteries of the TV universe..Score: 4/5

Firefly is solidThe originality of the literal Western-meets-space motif, the snappy dialog, the richly diverse set of characters, the chemistry between the actors, and Serenity herself make this one of the best sci-fi TV series of all time. My favorite episodes, in proper order of viewing: Serenity, Shindig, Out of Gas, Ariel, War Stories, and Objects in Space. Out of Gas and Objects in Space are two of the best episodes of TV every produced. Seriously, theyâre beautiful. Favorite lines: âMr. Reynolds? You died, Mr. Reynolds.âSeemed like the thing to do.âWhen you die I canât hurt you anymore, and I want two days at least, minimum.â As Niska would put it, the reputation of Firefly is âsolid;â I just wish âbusiness was still running.â.Score: 5/5

ShinyThis show has truly broken boundaries from being broadcast. I want to tell my children that Fox started âcancel cultureâ after canceling the series and it was inherently appropriated by Disney⊠Honestly, I can appreciate this Spacefaring Frontier aspect of the series. The âVerse is a well designed world build that seems quite realistic and relatable, so the âSci-Fiâ vibe is put to the wayside to focus on the characters and the variety of conflicts and challenges the Crew faces. Simply put, this show feels like it would have happened in recent history, despite being set 500 years into the future. Also, itâs congratulate the esteemed BrownCoats for allowing the fan following to continue happening for 20 years after being cancelled. Whedon deserved to be cancelled. Thatâs consequence for creating a stressful work environment. However, This show was just a huge grudge against Fox for not allowing the show to get initial view time on broadcast. Unfortunately, because Disney isnât best for keeping to the storyline of novels to movie, there isnât a great prospect of the series resurfacing. Sure, there are some great Star Wars shows to watch⊠but Firefly just isnât and if Star Wars is what you do well, stay on that path because itâs working..Score: 5/5

(TEN) OUT OF FIVE STARSFirefly is an outstanding series that, at the very beginning when first seeing it, those of us who love it now, recognized it qualities and loved it instantly then. It is a wonderful mix of science, excitement, and humour. Though I've watched the series over and over - I seem never to tire of the complexity of the characters. Each of them have truly human characteristics, the mix of these develops each of them to be plausible and loveable and a wonderful team. You might think that with all this compatibility there could be no friction, but wonderfully, there is enough friction to create balance. Firefly mixes recognizable past and character types with the greatly distant future as well. Without the aid of ridiculous prosthesis' the show assembles an absolutely wonderful combination of plot, characters, action, adventure, comedy, intrigue, and suspense. FIREFLY is what Star Trek might have been if it hadn't the breaks to cause it to become the legacy it's become. FIREFLY IS FULLY WORTHY OF MY RATING OF (TEN) OUT OF FIVE STARS..Score: 5/5

A future that seems real.Maybe our world will be just like the one in Firefly. The world in this story are so real that you could touch it with your bare hands, so does the characters. After Japanese anime Cowboy Bebop, I have been looking for a similar show until I found Firefly. Try it, you will love the stories and humor. IconicIt's an overused word but in this instance entirely justified. A whole sub-genre was spawned. It is rare to have a pretext that doesn't feel painfully contrived and inadequate (Allowing for the lack of actual Asians in the series). To have solid special effects, good plot, exquisite writing and engaging characters as well makes for a lot of stars. BSG's reboot demonstrated how to do this as a complete arc. But I think this ship sailed. Leaving us with a James Dean of a series and a solid film to Append it..Score: 5/5

You'll probably watch this for the rest of your lifeI've lost count of the number of times over the past few years I've been sitting bored in the house and thought "I know, I'll watch Firefly again!". Joss Whedon at his finest, you'll fall in love with the characters very quickly and each episode tells a fantastic story. Firefly brings light-hearted but compelling sci-fi with some great action scenes and excellent dialog. The character development itself is supurb and you'll feel like you really get to know each individual's personalities, quirks and traits. By the end of the series you'll wish so much that Joss was able to continue making this fantastic programme. But it, keep it, you won't regret it!.Score: 5/5
