Amazing!!!There better be a second season or I will be depressed. Such an amazing story and cast! I'm addicted..Score: 5/5

...this show is getting ever darkerWell, once again a show that LOOKED like it had real promise, is becoming darker and darker. In the torture episode, we never really see torture…only a bit….but we now have a ‘coming out’ of a key character. The on-going gender optional agenda in almost all modern media entertainment is becoming all-pervasive. There seems to be no escape. 1.5%-3% of the entire population (and only a handful of these, actually) have forced their lifestyle on everyone. The in-your-face nature of this agenda means that, eventually, those who prefer to flow with the plan of Nature for men and women, will be forced to endure watching graphic or near-graphic violations of Nature. Even spelling it out and complaining might soon be censured, in deference to this agenda. This is assured by a rampant social agenda for political-correctness. It’s like moral quicksand that, once you step in it, down you go. The only way out is not to step in it! I paid for the series. I had high hopes. I Thought this might turn out to be a decent show teens and adults could share. It seems this opinion may have been premature? How far from acceptable this show deviates morally, depends on how low their ratings drop. This is how it works. Ratings slide … and in comes the gender-twisting agenda in a desperate attempt to raise those ratings. Then, a bit more graphic violence, if this doesn’t work, and so on. WRONG approach … yet, nowadays this seems as predictable as taxes. It is a shame too. The show has some good acting, reasonable special FX budget, HAD some interesting story arcs. Now…I sense the slide down. Episode 5 was the last decent episode that lacked the implementation of the minority-that-would-be-a-majority agenda. Caveat Emptor...this show is getting ever darker..Score: 3/5

SurprisedI subscribed to it on a whim, expecting to get one season and like so many others, would not subscribe to a second season. However, I am surprised, this is really fun. I love the series. Hope for many more!.Score: 5/5

Awesome Show. This show is awesome and did a good job of explaining the story from the books. Cannot wait for season 2, but that comes out on Spike TV instead of MTV. The previews look as good as the first season..Score: 5/5

The writing is even worse than the source materialOk, so, Brooks isn't know for being a brilliant writer... he all but plagiarized Tolkien outright in the novels, and his characters are cloying copies of the originals. The Elfstones book that MTV used for this series was at least best of the trilogy, but that doesn't say much. The tv series had potential in a campy fun way. A few good actors (mainly the older ones) helped drive things, and the special effects and costumes (especially demons) work great for tv. But the writing... the things they make these poor young actors say and do... I'm not sure how anyone could say some of those lines with a straight face... cheesy fantasy tv series or not, this is just bad writing... bad bad...not funny bad. Bad like a 6-year-old kid telling you about something exciting that happened at school: vague outlines of a story but lacking any substance or storytelling ability. Fail!.Score: 1/5

Entertaining & PredictableThe acting is good- Grade B. The plot is predictable but keeps one's attention- Grade B. The sets and cinematography are excellent- Grade A. Overall worth buying- B+. The characters have one obvious shortcoming: no peripheral vision! They get "snuck up on" in wide open spaces! Even the elves don't see or hear anything- Legolas would be ashamed! Seriously though, this is a fun show..Score: 4/5

Great showI really hope there will be a season 2!.Score: 5/5

Imperfect, but still funFirst thing to know about this show: it is NOT an adaptation of Terry Brooks' Elfstones of Shannara, but rather loosely based on it. Do not go into this show nitpicking every change the producers have made or you will lose your mind. That being said, the show on its own is actually very entertaining and even surprisingly original. Sure, the teen drama has been upped to an embarrassing degree and the over-the-top PPP soundtrack can be grating, but the visuals are stunning and the world-building is spectacular. This show has the potential to be truly great, but for now it has a long way to go..Score: 4/5

Awesome Show!We have lately been corrupted/spoiled by shows that breaks our hearts with sudden death and loss that we sometime fail to enjoy a simple show with a straight forward plot and a good vibe. This is like a feel good game of thrones :).Score: 5/5

Why was it not cancelledMaybe Kanye West is right and there is a descrimination against straight people in TV. I see no other reason that this weak, plotless series got second season, but political correctness..Score: 1/5

MikeMove over Game of Thrones!, there is a new fantasy TV series about to take the Top Dog Spot! and it’s The Shannara Chronicles!!!!. First Episode felt like I was watching a movie. I up so excited for this series. Difinitely worth investing your time to watch!!!!.Score: 5/5

Ugh!!Can't believe this comes from people with such pedigrees. The casting is mostly terrible; it wasn't cast for the story but for marketing the Talent. I know some of the directors and can't believe what's been done; obviously there hands were tied from Studio and budgetary constrictions; hope they enjoyed the trip. The series is basically a bad Coles Notes version of an adaptation - the audience is given snippets; like reading the first page of a book and flipping through many blank pages until you find another couple pages entrusting you to stitch the story together yourself. Hah! Fill in the blanks. Hate to be pessimistic but there's really not much to be positive about. Great work with set design: within budget for sure. 10 year olds and younger might enjoy it, otherwise, big skip. Too bad cause the books were obviously awesome. An epic like Shannara really needs someone with vision and the right Studio to back it to do it appropriately: look at Game of Thrones, The Expanse for examples of doing it right..Score: 1/5

The Shannara ChroniclesGreat tv series, just bought the Season Pass for $20.00 not a bad price, becoming a fan now after Star Wars. It’s OK, despite itselfClumsy writing, inconsistent character behaviours and a performance spectrum that ranges from watery bland to overacting so spectacular that Jon Lovitz would be proud of it (“ACTING!”). And yee gods… more demons that speak a silly made-up guttoral language, although only the head guy speaks in sentences. the rest just roar like four-year-olds playing at monster. Two saving graces: One is the excellence and originality of the narrative and plot lines. The second is that I learned how to fast-forward a video on iTunes so I could skip the stupid bits. I bought and watched the entire first season but I’m not planning that for season 2..Score: 3/5

TerribleI am very disappointed in this TV series. I have read the book and there are only a few similarities. I don't like the new characters added to the TV series, they don't add any value to the plot. I find the main characters in the TV series whiny with poor acting. Also, I don't understand why there is so much sexual under tones and sex scenes. I guess that's how you get the younger generation to watch it. My suggestion is, don't. It's was a waste of money..Score: 1/5

Can't wait for the rest!I have not read the books but I am hooked after the first episode. Absolutely loved it! Great acting, the sets and locations are amazing, my inner fantasy nerd is screaming for more!.Score: 5/5

GratingIf you have not read the books you might enjoy this show, but all the changes and soap opera notes were very grating. I understand that movies are not books, but the changes to the characters behaviours made no sense. Also, who climbs into a cave to have sex when surrounded by a demon army? Really? The production values were good, and the cast OK in spite of the horrible hacked up script..Score: 3/5
