Its OKLoved the books. Was hoping for more Lord of the Rings type production verse what seem more like Twilight ( young kids in love tension ) and CW nightly show production. I think the books deserved more, but Terry Brooks did signed off on this. With this said and putting that behind us, what they have adopted for TV is watchable and entertaining. I think many give it a 5 for having waited so long to get it in made into a movie or TV, but a 5 is to much. Strong 3.5 is more fitting ( mainly due to the TV script verse books), but we still have the rest of the season. There is potential for improvement. I will say the sets, locations, and graphics are pretty good for TV series, and it helps the watchability greatly..Score: 3/5

Can't wait to see moreThe books are great I read them over 20 years ago. Glade to see it in film form. Is the acting compared to LOTR??? Well no... Some characters you can tell are A+ actors, other this is their beginnings. With that being said the story still pulls you in and you want to see what is next. Can't wait for more to come out. Entertaining & PredictableThe acting is good- Grade B. The plot is predictable but keeps one's attention- Grade B. The sets and cinematography are excellent- Grade A. Overall worth buying- B+. The characters have one obvious shortcoming: no peripheral vision! They get "snuck up on" in wide open spaces! Even the elves don't see or hear anything- Legolas would be ashamed! Seriously though, this is a fun show..Score: 4/5

Wanted to like itI lasted 7 episodes, which was sometimes very difficult not to turn off. The writing is terrible, so the dialogue and acting is also lacking. The two female leads are stereotypical Disney princesses trying to get the main guy to like them. One episode he's with one of them & next episode the other. The only positives are the special effects, locations, & costumes/make-up..Score: 1/5

It’s OK, despite itselfClumsy writing, inconsistent character behaviours and a performance spectrum that ranges from watery bland to overacting so spectacular that Jon Lovitz would be proud of it (“ACTING!”). And yee gods… more demons that speak a silly made-up guttoral language, although only the head guy speaks in sentences. the rest just roar like four-year-olds playing at monster. Two saving graces: One is the excellence and originality of the narrative and plot lines. The second is that I learned how to fast-forward a video on iTunes so I could skip the stupid bits. I bought and watched the entire first season but I’m not planning that for season 2..Score: 3/5

No "vortex" just a plastic door with smoke FX. 1000+ years old cars still on 4 wheels. Well, details are overlooked. As for the rest, there's a reason why its 14+ and not 18+. TerribleI am very disappointed in this TV series. I have read the book and there are only a few similarities. I don't like the new characters added to the TV series, they don't add any value to the plot. I find the main characters in the TV series whiny with poor acting. Also, I don't understand why there is so much sexual under tones and sex scenes. I guess that's how you get the younger generation to watch it. My suggestion is, don't. Nice fantasy but the acting...I have to admit I haven’t read the books, so I can’t say if it’s true to the books, but I really enjoy the story line and the visuals. Although some of the acting and the script… But it is an MTV production and I’m sure its intended audience loves every “cheeseball moment”. Love the clever cheeky rogue girl. Cringe whenever the princess opens her mouth. Not quite Game of Thrones, but a good filler in the meantime..Score: 3/5
