TerribleGone is the funny, yet serious, and quirky doctor. What we have in this series is just political correctness and virtue signaling. What was this?After an ok first episode, we steadily go downhill. It is very boring. What was a fun, adventure show has become a preachy, after-school special. Jodie had potential but she doesnāt really develop as a character of her own. She borrows way too much from the Tennant and Smith Doctors in her performance. The companions are just there, very lackluster. Graham is the only one that feels real. Unfortunately, they act as yes men and just follow the Doctor around. No questioning or challenging a character who has always dabbled in a greyish area, morality-wise. The scripts are not good overall, but for me, the biggest disappointment is just the utter boredom and uninterest this series has inspired in me after loving this show so much. I will not add this nor the next series to my collection..Score: 1/5

Change shoudl be good but...You can't change too much at once: female Dr, three companions, no previous foes, historical events. That's a lot of changes for a show. It disconnectes it from its roots. Usually, it is called a reboot, but this time it is not. At the end, what you get is not Dr Who but a different show dealing with historical events. The problem is that it's a boring show, poorly written and badly played. Most of the characteres are hollow and you don't reallt care for any of the "companions". Just Jodie was ok but she can do as much with such poor screenplays. Hoping for new screenwritters for the next season but just ignore this one..Score: 1/5
Itās not the cast. Itās the writing...The stories set up nicely but quickly take a nose dive with plot twists are often absurd and climaxes that fall flat. Iām not talking about usual Dr. Who delightful absurd, but instead the plain, painful, stupid kind. The writing on the wall is that these writers are sorely lacking. The 13th & first female Doctor does not deserve a debut such as this....Score: 1/5

Thirteen = Brilliant!! Writing = Ehh.After years of people telling me I needed to try out Doctor Who, I finally decided to give it a go. Why? Because of this new series. I was intrigued to see if a show 50+ years running could successfully genderbend its main character while still keeping true to the heart of the character and the show itself. The Doctor has become an icon for geeks everywhere, and as a huge Star Wars, Tolkien, and general sci-fi/fantasy nerd, I have to appreciate that. Series 11 seemed like a great jumping-on join for a noob to get her start in the Whoniverse. I was absolutely right. I fell in love with Jodie Whittakerās version of the Doctor almost immediately - her quirky mannerisms (and especially facial expressions) remind me somewhat of Martin Freemanās Bilbo Baggins from The Hobbit films. She instantly captured everything I had always thought the Doctor was supposed to represent. The wisdom, compassion, strength, and age, all wrapped up in a bundle of energy and excitement over the wonders of the universe. I loved it all and couldnāt figure out why so many fanboys were hating. After finishing this series, I went back to series 1, with the introduction of the Ninth Doctor. Iāve been working my way through ever since. And now Iām beginning to understand why many were underwhelmed with series 11. Donāt get me wrong, I still absolutely love Thirteen. Iām still fond of Yaz, Ryan, and Graham. And there are many moments in this series that are downright awesome. But in comparison to past series, the writing is honestly pretty... ehhhh. Plots are fairly simple and predictable, and none of the characters really develop a ton. Besides, I think Jodie could achieve SO much more with the character if the writers and directors would give her half the chance. Let the Doctor finally get tired of having to stand by while the innocent are torn down, let her memories of past battles and loves and losses shine through for a few moments, let her new companions hear stories of those who came before. Let her somehow encounter a shadow from her past, whether it be an old companion, enemy, or location, and the true ancientness of the Doctor be glimpsed again. I donāt want to doubt that the writers will clue in for series 12. I really do believe that awesome things are coming. I just hope that the writers realize how and why this series isnāt all Doctor Who could be - not because of the actors, or the characters, and especially not because of the gender change. But because itās capable of far more than itās currently being given. Believe in your characters and fans, BBC. Donāt water it down for us ā give us the epicness this show and the first female Doctor deserve..Score: 4/5
Worst stories and writing in the history of the seriesIt only took three episodes for Chris Chibnall to completely kill DOCTOR WHO -- a franchise that should have been unkillable. But his poor characterizations, and lousy storytelling finally succeeded. Please note I have no objection to a female Doctor. It's the WRITING this season that's been TERRIBLE. This is not DOCTOR WHO -- it's empty, vapid,and unwatchable. Wake me when Chibnall's been fired as showrunner..Score: 1/5
Sad state of the DoctorIt takes an existing franchise, loved by fans, and shoves politics down the throats of fans. It is demeaning to men, and plays to the worst hateful stereo types. It does nothing to advance discussion, or entertain. Donāt believe? take your favorite movie, tv show, or ...replace woman for a man and then turn her into both the punchline idiot and evil villain and call it progressive. The season is finally over and....It's a shame to say how disappointed I was. Not for Jodi Whittiker being the Doctor. She was the one thing I was looking forward to in this series. But... the writing, the direction, the villains, the cinematography, the paragraphs of exposition. So many of these episodes are just talking and talking with not much really happening. There were a couple of episodes with interesting ideas but after it all, this whole series just feels very futile. I just... think I'm going to let Doctor Who rest now..Score: 2/5

A decent start to the new era of DW. 3/5 for the plotJodieās great as the Doctor. The group dynamic was refreshing - it left no room for a large bulk of screen time to be spent on one character. Grahamās the best companion out of the three. I wonāt ramble on about the plot. Iām not as critical as others. Chibnall handled his first series pretty well and Iām looking forward to the next! Jodie better not bow out after S12! 13 should leave after lucky 13 lol Hopefully she stays for at least 3 seasons like the rest have done. Ps, I want Alan Cumming to return as King James!!.Score: 3/5

Good Doctor, Good Companions, Really Really Bad Episodes!!Iāve been a fan of doctor who ever since I saw Christopher Eccleston fight of the Slitheen in Ten Downing Street. Time and time we get new episodes that keep you interested in the show despite some drawbacks. However this new series has been just the same story over and over again with a new catchphrase being either ābrilliantā or āof courseā. Donāt get me wrong I like Jodie Whittaker as the new doctor but please for gods sake make better and more childish shows like I donāt no āThe Daleks invade Ancient Rome and the Doctor teams up with Julius Cesar or Susan returns but she is evil I starts a war just for funā instead we are treated to the doctor avoiding Rosa parks and battling talking frogs?????
